this is why we trust in the Lord as our faithful man...you know, "jesus is my homeboy," "jesus is my boyfriend,"etc. but i do believe and trust that my husband will be the one who teaches me what a man truly is, shows me another aspect of God's love through his love for me, and makes up for all of the poor male role models i have had in my life.
it's pretty cool because that is exactly what sarah says that erik is to her. she said that she thought she would never be able to find a man she could trust, maybe her husband, but no one else. erik demonstrated to her how his love was unconditional and pure and helped her wipe away all that she had known. she trusts in him as her protector too if there is ever a person that tries to harm her and he has proven that to her.
i think that is beautiful. i pray that for everyone who has had a lack of strong male influences, especially celina and my cousins. i also pray that proverbs 20:6 would continually challenge us not to settle for anything less than a man who is unwavering in his love for the Lord and us.
